Commissioner for Equal Opportunities in the Labor Market (BCA)

The Commissioner for Equal Opportunities in the Labor Market (BCA) in the Sigmaringen District Job Center supports you in combining family and work.

Questions about equality between women and men in the general labor market and the compatibility of family and career are answered in personal or telephone advice.

You will receive support on the following topics:

  • Equality between women and men
  • Career prospects after parental leave
  • Work-life balance
  • Securing and expanding childcare

The BCA works closely with network partners/institutions to effectively expand the support offer for you. You can also be referred to other helpful contacts within the local network.

Women on parental leave (§ 10 SGB II) are contacted by the BCA through individual consultations and invited to discussions. Individual needs are discussed in the needs community and the next steps are discussed. After parental leave has ended and childcare has been secured, further support will be provided by the Market and Integration team.

Would you like information or a consultation appointment? Then please feel free to contact me.

Important information about family

Sigmaringen District Office Youth Department

Information on economic youth welfare

“The economic youth welfare service is responsible for regulating the financial matters of youth welfare services (e.g. education in a day group, a foster family, a home). This includes both covering the costs and encouraging parents to contribute to the costs.

The employees will advise you on the options of covering the costs of participation fees for day care facilities (e.g. kindergarten, school child care) or granting a cash benefit to the day care person.”

Good and healthy start at three locations

“In collaboration between the Health Department and the Youth Department, three family health centers were opened at the Bad Saulgau, Pfullendorf and Sigmaringen locations.

Midwife coordinators from the Health Department and social education specialists from the “Family at the Start” department work next door to provide families with good information, advice and support around the birth.

The centers also promote collaboration with resident women's and pediatricians, with freelance midwives, with pregnancy counseling specialists and the district-wide early help network.

In this way, families can be coordinated “from birth to life with the child” and seamlessly provided with appropriate health and family support offers.

How can I contact the Family Health Center?

All three centers can be reached on 07571-102 4209.”

Holistic support for parents and children

“Tackling employment promotion and youth welfare together (BeJuga)”

“As part of the state program “New Opportunities on the Labor Market”, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism is promoting the testing of concepts to better link employment promotion and youth welfare (BeJuga). The aim of BeJuga is to offer holistic support for families receiving SGBII benefits with at least one minor child and to enable low-threshold access to further advice, care and employment offers. This project has been running successfully at various non-profit organizations in Baden-Württemberg since 2017.”
